This June marks the end of an era for the Volvo S60 in the U.S. market.

The compact luxury sedan will cease production at Volvo's Ridgeline, South Carolina assembly plant, which currently shares the floor with the electric three-row EX90.

Though the S60's days are numbered in the States, it will continue to grace other markets, thanks to its ongoing production at Volvo's Daqing factory in China.

However, don't expect these overseas models to return to the U.S. anytime soon.

A Volvo spokesperson confirmed to Car and Driver that there are no plans to import the S60 from China to the U.S.

In its final model year, the S60 remains available as a 2025 model at Volvo retailers nationwide.

The Volvo rep emphasizes, "The S60 is still being produced currently as a MY25 vehicle and is available at Volvo retailers across the country.

The S60 has seen little change since its debut in 2019, retaining its sleek exterior and sophisticated interior design.

For 2025, it offers two powertrains—a 247-hp turbocharged four-cylinder and a 456-hp plug-in hybrid.

The latter, previously known as the "Recharge," now carries the straightforward, if somewhat cumbersome, name "T8 AWD plug-in hybrid."
