This vehicle, known simply as the "Pickup Truck," is a one-of-a-kind creation.

They created the truck by merging the VW Taigun SUV and the VW Virtus sedan.

The mechatronics students put together the truck, adding an extra-long rear overhang to it.

Did you know that Volkswagen has more than just the Amarok pickup truck? There's also a smaller model called the Saveiro that you can find in Latin America.

So, this pickup truck was made in India by Skoda Auto Volkswagen India. So, this project was-

actually part of the Student Car Project, and it got some backing from the "Skill India" program. Students collaborated with the Skoda and VW teams in India.

The truck used a lot of parts from other products to save on costs. The project was based on the Taigun crossover and the Virtus sedan.

We 3D-printed some new parts to combine with the borrowed components. The students went ahead and added a snorkel, some fender flares, and plastic body cladding to give it that rugged vibe.

The Pickup Truck sits up higher thanks to a suspension lift and has an LED light bar on the roof for some extra flair.

It features some really cool body graphics and has these chunky tires on wheels that look like beadlocks.

The rear overhang is definitely a downside since it wasn't initially made to be a pickup.

These students have been busy! Last year, they also worked on a four-door convertible.
