Thor Industries Unveils First Hybrid Class A Motorhome

Thor Industries Motorhome has unveiled a plug-in-hybrid RV designed to enhance the efficiency of road trips.

The vehicle is designated as the Thor Test Vehicle and is presently in the prototype stage.

Thor refers to it as the inaugural hybrid Class A motorhome in the world.

The vehicle is equipped with a Harbinger Motors "series hybrid" platform.

The hybrid configuration features a 140.0-kilowatt-hour battery pack along with a gasoline range extender.

The vehicle is equipped with a solar roof to enhance its efficiency.

The battery offers a range of 150 miles. The integrated hybrid system provides a range of up to 500 miles per refueling.

Thor’s hybrid RV is equipped with DC fast charging capabilities utilizing an 800-volt architecture.

The RV is equipped with V2L bidirectional charging capabilities, serving as a reliable backup power source for your home.

Thor guarantees outstanding acceleration and torque, asserting it possesses "twice the torque of a diesel engine."

The recreational vehicle is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension and a steer-by-wire system.

The hybrid RV is equipped with a range of standard active safety features.

While it is presently a prototype, Thor Industries intends to have the Thor Industries Motorhome in production by the following year.
