Hey there, Just wanted to let you know that Kia has recently announced a recall for 462,869 Telluride SUVs.

There is a recall in place due to a possible fire hazard in the vehicles.

Manufacturer's Instructions: We recommend that owners of affected models park their vehicles outside, away from other vehicles or structures.

We should continue with this precaution until the issue is resolved. What caused the problem:

It seems that the issue is related to the power seat control switch. The switch may become misaligned if there is any impact to the front seat cover or slide knob.

If there is a misalignment, it could lead to the seat motor running continuously, which may result in overheating and a potential fire hazard.

NHTSA Findings: We've had seven incidents reported, including one under-seat fire and six cases of localized melting of the seat tilt motor.

There have been no reports of injuries, crashes, or fatalities. What's next for owners?

A notification will be sent to affected owners by mail. Please bring your vehicle to the nearest Kia dealership as instructed.

What the dealer will do: The dealer will strengthen the power seats by installing a new bracket and replacing the power seat slide knob.

We've made some changes to help minimize the chances of misalignment and potential fire hazards.

Just wanted to give you a heads up that dealers will be receiving notifications on July 25. We will be sending out owner notification letters the following week.

To find out if your vehicle is part of a recall, simply go to the NHTSA recall website and enter your VIN number. It's a quick and easy way for owners to stay informed.
