The well-loved Ineos Grenadier has encountered a little bump in the road with production, leading to a pause in operations at the Hambach plant in France.
The pause is also impacting the Grenadier Quartermaster pickup truck, and it could continue until 2025.
This disruption isn't caused by any mechanical problems with Ineos itself. Instead, a supplier in charge of an important trim part is causing the delay.
Although the supplier hasn't been revealed, there's some chatter suggesting it might be Recaro.
Recaro Automotive encountered some financial challenges and filed for bankruptcy in July, mentioning significant price increases and the loss of an important contract.
They planned to keep making seats, but it looks like things might not go that way after all.
A statement from Ineos to Techusaguide shared the situation: "We're facing a critical component shortage that is beyond our control, which has temporarily paused our Hambach production."
Even with the challenges in automotive supply chains, we're excited to be in such a busy period right now. We're thrilled to hear the positive feedback from-
Grenadier customers around the world, and we're excited to have expanded into new markets like Mexico and China. We've sold as many Grenadiers by summer as we did-
throughout 2023, and we're aiming for over 20,000 cars by year-end. This pause is a bit challenging as we work hard to meet customer demand quickly.
We're excited to share that we're working hard to get back to manufacturing and are looking forward to returning to full production by early 2025.
We want to thank our customers, especially those who are waiting for their Grenadiers, for their understanding as we work through this issue.
