Honda Recalls 720,000 Accord, Civic for Fuel Pump Issues

Honda just shared news about a notable recall that's got car owners chatting.

They’re recalling over 720,000 vehicles, and it’s impacting a few of their most beloved models.

We're checking out the latest Accords (both regular and hybrid versions) from 2023-2024,

the exciting new 2025 Civic lineup, and CR-V Hybrids from 2023-2025. So, what's going on? It all boils down to a few pesky fuel pumps.

The manufacturing team found that while producing, some machining issues caused too much torque to be applied to certain parts.

This really caused a bit of a hassle since it could lead to cracks in something known as the solenoid core – definitely not ideal for your fuel system.

If you're curious about what to keep an eye on, stay attentive! If you catch a whiff of fuel while you're driving,

that's definitely a sign to pay attention to! This isn't just a minor issue – we're looking at possible fuel leaks that could, in the worst-case scenarios, result in fires.

But here's the bright side: Honda has a great plan to address this. They've already informed their-

dealerships and are excited to start reaching out to everyone affected beginning December 4.

The solution includes swapping out these troublesome fuel pumps for new and better ones.

The engineering team has done an amazing job with these replacement parts – they've enhanced the machining process,

adjusted the dimensions, and even made improvements to the baking conditions during manufacturing.

If you suspect your Honda could be impacted, it's a great idea to visit an authorized dealer for assistance.

They'll take a look at it and, if necessary, swap out that fuel pump for you at no charge.

That's great news! If you've already taken care of some repairs, Honda could help you out by reimbursing those costs.

Just a friendly reminder, this is all about ensuring you and your family stay safe while driving.

Be sure to check your mailbox for any official updates from Honda, and feel free to have your vehicle looked at if you have any worries.
