Ford Offers $20K+ Incentive for 2024 F-150 Lightning Orders
By Kevin JosephOctober 22, 2024
have you noticed how the electric vehicle market isn't as hot as it used to be? It's hitting everyone pretty hard,
and Ford's definitely feeling the squeeze with their F-150 Lightning pickup.
You know how Ford dealers usually can't keep F-150s on the lot? Well, that's not the case with the electric-
version right now – they're actually having trouble moving their 2024 models. But Ford's got an interesting solution up their sleeve.
They're rolling out these new "Retail Replenishment Centers" (pretty fancy name, right?) to help dealers manage their inventory better.
Think of it like a backup warehouse where dealers can store their Lightnings without eating up valuable lot space or racking up huge storage costs.
Here's where it gets interesting – Ford's actually throwing some serious cash at dealers to make this work.
Get this: dealers can earn up to $22,500 per month just for ordering trucks through these centers. Plus, there's an extra $1,500 per truck for restocking.
Not too shabby, right? This deal's running from October 15 to November 15, 2024.
They're offering this for most of the Lightning lineup – the XLT, Flash, Lariat, and Platinum models.
Though interestingly, the Pro model (you know, the one aimed at business fleets) isn't part of the deal.
The only real downside I can see is that you might have fewer Lightnings available for test drives at your local dealer.
Ford's also sweetening the pot for buyers with some nice financing deals and they'll even help cover the cost of installing a Level 2-
charger at your home through their "Ford Power Promise" program. Though if you're looking to lease, you might miss out on some of these perks.
Despite all these challenges, it's worth noting that Ford's actually doing pretty well in the grand scheme of things.
They hit record EV sales in Q3 2024 – only Tesla sold more electric vehicles in North America. Not too shabby for a traditional automaker, right?
What do you think about these changes? Are you seeing any of this play out at Ford dealers in your area?
