2025 Nissan Murano: Sleek Design, No More CVT

By Kevin Joseph October 17, 2024

Let me share the exciting news about Nissan's latest reveal - the completely reimagined 2025 Murano SUV that's hitting showrooms early next year.

Car enthusiasts and family-focused buyers alike are in for a treat. Sitting comfortably in Nissan's lineup between the nimble Rogue and-

the family-friendly Pathfinder, the new Murano is turning heads with its sophisticated design.

The front end sports these incredibly sleek headlights and striking linear DRLs that give it a modern edge.

Around the back, there's this gorgeous LED light bar that stretches across the entire width - it's a real statement piece.

Nissan's designers have really cleaned up the look by tucking away the exhaust tips and rear wiper.

Now, here's where it gets interesting - they've made a bold move under the hood. Out goes the familiar V6, and in comes-

a clever VC-Turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (the same one you'll find in the upscale 2025 Infiniti QX60).

We're looking at 241 horses and 261 lb-ft of torque, paired with a smooth nine-speed automatic instead of the old CVT.

While you can expect better fuel economy with the smaller engine, it maintains the same 23 mpg combined rating.

Unlike some competitors like Toyota's hybrid-only Crown Signia, Nissan is sticking to the traditional powertrain for now.

For drivetrain options, the SV trim comes standard with front-wheel drive, but you can opt for all-wheel drive if you want that extra capability.

If you're looking at the higher SL or Platinum trims, all-wheel drive comes standard. The interior is where the Murano really shines.

Even the base SV trim comes nicely equipped with conveniences like a power liftgate, heated front seats, leatherette upholstery, and a digital gauge cluster.

Tech-wise, you're getting a sweet 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard across the board.

Step up to the SL trim, and you'll enjoy some premium features like a panoramic sunroof, Google Built-In apps, and a Bose audio system that'll make your commute much more enjoyable.

The top-tier Platinum trim really brings the luxury with semi-aniline leather, massaging front seats, heated rear seats, and a head-up display.

While Nissan has yet to announce pricing, don't be surprised if it starts a bit higher than the current SV's $40,130 price-

tag for the front-wheel-drive model. Considering all the upgrades and new tech, it might be worth the premium.
