 2025 Kia Tasman Pickup Specs

Kia's first global pickup truck, the Tasman, is gearing up for its debut in October, and it's hitting the UAE deserts for some final testing.

Unlike the Hyundai Santa Cruz, the Tasman features a unique body-on-frame design from the ground up.

Even though it's still clad in colorful camouflage, you can spot some design elements like the square wheel arches with plastic cladding and the Telluride-esque vertical headlights.

The video also highlights handy steps in the rear bumper corners for easier access to the cargo bed and shows off the Tasman manoeuvring over the dunes.

Kia has put the Tasman through its paces with over 1,777 different tests and more than 18,000 rounds of testing to ensure its reliability.

Although it's been tested in California, there's no confirmation yet on US availability.

If it does come stateside, the Tasman could face the 25% Chicken Tax unless Kia chooses to build it at its Georgia plant.

Plus, Kia is testing a fully electric pickup in the US, hinting that at least one of these models might make it here.

The Tasman is expected to be powered by a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine, much like the one in the Sorento.

It may also offer both 4x4 and 4x2 configurations, with a maximum payload capacity of 2,200 pounds and a towing capacity of 7,700 pounds.

However, there's no info yet on V-6 engines or plug-in hybrid drivetrains. So far, teasers and spy shots have only shown it in a double cab configuration.
