2025 Ford Police Interceptor Retains Hybrid Powertrain
Hybrid Powertrain Update: Starting with the 2023 model, Ford has decided to discontinue the 3.3-liter V-6 hybrid powertrain from the Explorer's lineup.
By the way, the 2025 Police Interceptor Utility now comes with a hybrid model.
Hybrid System Specs: The hybrid comes equipped with a powerful 285-hp V-6 engine and a 44-hp electric motor.
When combined, these deliver a total of 318 horsepower, ensuring efficient performance even during idle work.
Fuel Savings: The hybrid system provides substantial savings, potentially allowing you to save up to 838-
gallons of fuel per year and $17,500 over six years, assuming gas prices at $3.50 per gallon.
Non-Hybrid Options: You also have the option of choosing between the nonhybrid 285-hp 3.3-liter V-6 and the turbocharged 400-hp 3.0-liter V-6 with 415 lb-ft of torque.
New Features: The 2025 model comes with a 12.3-inch LCD digital instrument cluster that includes a certified speedometer, making it easier for officers to read and understand.
Safety Enhancements: We're excited to share that the Police Perimeter Alert is now standard! It detects threats, activates the rear camera, and locks the doors for your safety.
Plus, we’ve added some great driver safety features like automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring-
with cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and reverse brake assist to keep you secure on the road!
