Toyota Recalls 33,000 Vehicles Over Incorrect Stickers

Toyota has issued a recall for 33,848 vehicles in North America because of an issue with the load-carrying-capacity stickers.

This issue impacts a diverse selection of their models, including sports cars, pickup trucks, and family vehicles.

In a departure from the usual recalls triggered by production issues or defective components, this particular incident-

originated from Gulf States Toyota, a dealership group based in Texas that distributes Toyota accessories.

When you decide to add some new accessories to your car, it's important to keep in mind that this might affect the weight of your vehicle.

As a result, you may need to update the load capacity indicated on the sticker of your car. When adding an additional 150-

pounds of accessories, it's important to note that the load capacity listed will decrease accordingly.

Gulf States Toyota discovered a vehicle with an inaccurate sticker, leading to the need for a recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration-

(NHTSA) states that safety standards mandate precise reflection of weight changes within a 1% margin on these stickers.

Using the wrong sticker could potentially result in overloading, which in turn could increase the risk of a crash.

Notification letters will be sent to dealers by August 9, and owners can expect to receive theirs by September 16.

Our letters will come with corrected stickers and instructions for replacement. You can get free replacements at Toyota dealerships.

Vehicle owners can easily determine if their vehicle is affected by visiting either the NHTSA recalls website or Toyota's recall tool.
