2025 Toyota GR Corolla

Toyota continues to push forward after the success of its GR Corolla. The latest updates to this hot hatch have brought in a range of new features, making it even more appealing.

Interestingly, the vehicle now comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which makes it a viable option for individuals who prefer not to drive a manual.

While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, for a lot of people, it's a nice feature to have. The new eight-speed Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT) is more advanced-

than the automatics in the GR Supra and GR86. The GR Corolla's DAT system enhances the driving experience by-

utilizing driver inputs such as braking and acceleration rather than relying solely on g-forces to adjust shift points.

Although the fuel economy figures for the new transmission have not been released yet, it is generally expected that having more gears will result in improved miles per gallon.

In addition, the car provides Sport, Normal, and Eco modes, as well as a Custom setting for individualized preferences.

Engine and Performance Enhancements: The turbocharged three-cylinder engine in the GR Corolla continues to impress with its impressive power output of 300 horsepower.

The torque has been increased to 295 pound-feet, which is the same as the output of last year's limited Morizo edition.

Just so you know, the torque level is now standard on all 2025 GR Corollas. The new GR Corolla now comes with simplified GR Four torque settings.

In the past, there were three modes available, which could be a bit confusing. Now, the settings have been adjusted to Normal-

(60:40), Gravel (50:50), and Track (variable from 60:40 to 30:70), which makes it easier for users to navigate.

Track enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the addition of a sub-radiator behind the front fascia improves engine cooling, making it possible to enjoy the-

track for longer periods of time. This feature comes as a standard on the highest trim level, while it is optional on the lower trims.

Trim Levels and Pricing: The 2025 GR Corolla comes in three different trims for you to choose from. The base model is Core, while the Premium-

version offers additional features such as JBL audio, GR-logo suede seats, dual-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel and front seats, parking sensors, and functional air vents.

We don't have the exact pricing details yet, but it's anticipated that there will be a small increase compared to the $37,635 price of the 2024 manual Core model.

I'm not entirely sure about the cost of the automatic transmission. It could be quite low, similar to the GR Supra, or it might be around a thousand dollars, like in the GR86.
