Production Start: After more than 18 months since its unveiling, production of the all-electric Volvo EX90 has begun at Volvo's factory in Charleston, South Carolina.
Delayed Start: Initially set for late 2023, production was delayed until 2024 due to software bugs with the EX90 and Polestar 3. These issues are now resolved.
First Deliveries: Customer deliveries are expected in the second half of this year. The first EX90 built is painted Denim Blue and will be delivered in the U.S.
Factory Capacity: The Charleston factory also produces the S60 sedan and can manufacture up to 150,000 cars per year.
A battery pack production line was added for EX90 production.
Executive Statement: Volvo chief executive Jim Rowan highlighted the EX90 as marking a new era for safety,
sustainability, and human-centric technology, proudly manufactured in the USA.

U.S. pricing for the EX90 starts at $76,695.
The entry-level EX90 Twin Motor is available in Plus 7 Seat, Plus 6 Seat, Ultra 7 Seat, and Ultra 6 Seat versions.
Twin Motor versions have 402 hp, 568 lb-ft torque, a 111 kWh battery, 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds, and a 300-mile range.
Performance Variant: The Twin Motor Performance version offers 496 hp, 671 lb-ft torque, a 111 kWh battery, 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds, and a 300-mile range.
Prices for the Twin Motor Performance range from $81,695 to $86,545.
