2025 VW ID.Buzz to launch with 2 trims and First Edition

2025 Volkswagen ID.Buzz will debut with two trims and a special First Edition.

It feels like we've been waiting forever for the new Volkswagen ID.Buzz to hit the U.S. While the exact release date for this electric successor to the iconic Microbus is still up in the air,

it's supposed to happen sometime this fall. To get us excited, VW announced today that the 2025 ID.Buzz will come in three trim levels when it finally arrives.

We've known for a while that the U.S. version of the ID.Buzz comes with an 86.0-kWh battery, powering either a 282-hp single motor for the rear wheels or a 335-hp dual-

motor setup for all-wheel drive. We don't have the EPA range estimates yet, but all models will have the same 127.5-inch wheelbase,

The Pro S is the entry-level model and comes only with the RWD powertrain. It features 20-inch wheels, ambient interior lighting with 30 color options, and a-

12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Plus, it has a bunch of driver-assistance tech, including a self-parking function that remembers specific spots.

With a second-row bench seat, it can comfortably fit up to seven people. The Plus trim also packs in some great features like a 360-degree camera system, a head-up display,

and a 700-watt Harman Kardon stereo. It even has a manually retractable trailer hitch, although we're still not sure how much the ID.Buzz can tow

The 2025 VW ID.Buzz First Edition is a special launch-only model. It’s based on the Pro S Plus, so you get both powertrains and the same standard features.

But this First Edition gives you some extra flair: unique 20-inch wheels, exclusive badging, and roof-mounted cross bars. Cool features like electrochromic glass-

and motion-activated sliding doors and tailgate come standard, but you’ll have to go with the two-tone paint.

Inside, it’s all about the Dune option—light gray leatherette with clay-colored accents and wood-like trim.

Volkswagen says they'll share pricing and details as we get closer to the ID.Buzz's launch later this year. Honestly, we can't wait.
